How To install IIS (Internet Information Service) in Windows 7, 8 and 10
Many Web Developers are want to install IIS (Internet Information Service) to develop their products or making a server environment in their system. Windows 10 and Windows 8 have built-in features for the latest version of IIS (version 8.5) that comes with all security measures and handy tools to lunch a website straight from your home or VPS (Virtual Private Server). Windows 10 installs IIS version 10 instead of version 8, and some VPS (Windows Server 2012 r2) use IIS version 8.5. But all of them are using the same process to install this feature.
Installing IIS in Windows 10
IIS for windows is an optional feature that comes with the bundle but needs your attention to fix it. Either way, you want a server environment or want to lunch your website from VPS, this tool comes in handy. To set it, go to the control panel or press the Windows + R key to bring up a run box and then type appwiz.cpl and press enter.
How to Install IIS
Although, Windows 10 is an app-based Operating system, the IIS feature in Windows is still an “optional component.” To install it, just press the Win+R key together to bring up a run box, and then type appwiz.cpl and press the enter key.
It will open the Program and Features part of the Control Panel, on the left-hand side, right-click the link “Turn Windows features on or off” to open the windows features option, from where you can update the settings.
Now, check the Internet Information Services. After checking the box, you will see that it turns into blue.
If you need to define further options, merely expand it, and explore the sub-components. But, if you don’t extend it, you will get all the necessary components installed in the machine by only clicking Internet Information service. However, if you need some more developer-centric options, you can adjust it quickly from here.
Once you are choosing the necessary components, just click the OK button. So, you can see a dialogue box just like below.
After that, Open your browser and write http://localhost. Then you will see the IIS environment.
